Looking for a great place to visit with your group or society? Then look no further than the Dylan Thomas Birthplace in the heart of Dylan's Swansea and the Uplands. Our house tours are interactive and conducted by an expert Dylan guide. They can focus on any aspect of the writer's life.
A short walk away are the Uplands streets, scenes and haunts which influenced him including Cwmdonkin Park (Dylan's "..world within a world of the sea-town...") Why not combine a house tour with a guided tour of the Uplands or even further afield to Swansea, Mumbles and Gower – the opportunities are endless.
The privately owned house was rescued from semi dereliction and is now restored to how it might have been as a new house in 1914 when it was bought by the Thomas family a few months before Dylan was born in the front bedroom. It is known as Wales’ first World Literary Heritage Site.
Dylan and the family lived here for twenty three years and in that time the young writer wrote two-thirds of his published work in his small converted bedroom.
Today this is as it might have been in 1934 with facsimiles of letters written in the room and a plethora of other interesting items.
What a visit can offer your group...
The house is a perfect place to come and relax and enjoy with no ‘red ropes’ impeding your way! Our tours and visits are not just for the Dylan experts but are tailored to suit anyone and everybody whatever their interest. We'll help you create a unique and memorable visit for you and your group.
Group sizes can range from 10-55 people
